We meet on the first Wednesday of most months in
​                                          The Church of Ireland Center, Athy at 7.30pm.                                                                  
Lectures, presentations, demonstrations and workshops are given at these meetings by our own beekeepers and by guest speakers.  

The Association apiaries at Barley Hill and Battlemount are of particular benefit to beginners, where they gain experience in handling bees under the
watchful eyes of  members.  


Books from the library are available to all members on a monthly basis.

SKBA is a Voluntary Conservation Area (VCA) for the native Irish honey bee, Apis mellifera mellifera and we support The Native Irish Honey Bee Society. 
​At this year's AGM (2021) it was agreed that any member of SKBA who also wishes to join NIHBS will have their membership of NIHBS subsided by €10 from SKBA
